SAN ANTONIO – The NBA 2025-26 season tips off on Tuesday evening with a doubleheader on NBC. The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Houston Rockets, followed by the Golden State Warriors visiting Los Angeles to play the Lakers.

This season brings significant changes, including new uniforms, logos, and court designs for multiple teams. A key highlight is the league’s collaboration with Topps for an exclusive licensing deal that introduces a “Debut Patch” for rookie players. This patch will be sewn onto the player’s jersey for their first regular season game.

The patch will later be authenticated and included in a 1-of-1 autographed trading card. Award winners, such as Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and San Antonio‘s Stephon Castle, will sport a gold Logoman patch on their jerseys as they receive their honors.

The NBA will also debut the third Emirates NBA Cup starting on Halloween, culminating in a championship game at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 16. The semifinals will now occur at home sites rather than a centralized location.

This season, several teams will unveil new City Edition uniforms, including the Boston Celtics, who will showcase a white uniform with gold accents. The Brooklyn Nets will honor the late hip-hop icon The Notorious B.I.G. with a special uniform featuring a multicolored “Brooklyn Camo” pattern.

The Philadelphia 76ers also celebrate their 25th anniversary of the Eastern Conference championship with new uniforms featuring a shooting star design. Other teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Miami Heat will be paying tribute to their history with unique designs inspired by local culture.

The Timberwolves have a Prince-themed uniform set to debut on November 15, celebrating the late musician’s legacy in Minnesota. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat will bring back their black “Vice Nights” uniforms inspired by the neon signage of the old Miami Arena.

As the Spurs prepare for the season, they hosted a kick-off party at the Rock at La Cantera, inviting fans for merchandise giveaways and player interactions. The Spurs announced a co-branded debit card partnership with Frost Bank, offering exclusive fan perks.

Fans are eager for the season’s commencement on October 22 when the Spurs face the Mavericks. Meanwhile, numerous pre-game festivities and unique jersey designs are sure to enhance the excitement surrounding the new season.
