New Crime Drama ‘The Bikeriders’ Rides Into Oscar Buzz with Breakout Stars Butler, Comer, and Hardy
Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, and Tom Hardy join forces in the latest crime drama, ‘The Bikeriders,’ a film that has already started generating Oscar buzz.
Directed by Jeff Nichols, ‘The Bikeriders’ is an adaptation of a photo book by Danny Lyon, transforming visual snapshots into a captivating narrative of love, motorcycles, and tragedy.
The story unfolds with Mike Faist portraying Lyon, who interviews Comer’s character, Kathy, diving into her enthralling encounter with Butler’s enigmatic Benny.
The film tracks the complex relationship dynamics tested by Benny’s deep ties to the Vandals MC, a Chicago-based motorcycle club led by Hardy’s character, Johnny, which gradually morphs into an organized crime outfit.
Butler, who has recently soared to stardom with an Oscar nomination for ‘Elvis‘ and a villainous turn in ‘Dune: Part Two,’ reflects on his real-life motorcycle aficionado status, having grown up cruising on bikes with his father.
Comer, known for her standout performances in ‘Free Guy,’ ‘The Last Duel,’ and ‘Killing Eve,’ draws parallels between ‘The Bikeriders’ and the iconic crime drama ‘Goodfellas,’ directed by Martin Scorsese, citing similar elements of narration and richly layered characters.
‘With its ever-evolving narrative teeming with criminal elements and a vibrant ensemble cast of colorful characters, ‘The Bikeriders’ is poised to captivate audiences and potentially emulate the success of ‘Goodfellas,” says Comer.
