New Delta Biscuit Company Breaks Ground in Downtown Ruston

RUSTON, La. — Construction has officially begun for the Delta Biscuit Company in downtown Ruston, a development that is expected to enhance the city’s dining landscape. The groundbreaking took place on March 10, 2025, and local officials gathered to celebrate the arrival of the popular franchise.
Delta Biscuit Company, known for its Southern-style comfort food and handmade biscuits, is set to become a favorite spot for both residents and tourists. The eatery aims to provide a cozy atmosphere and locally sourced ingredients, making it a unique addition to the existing food scene in Ruston.
Local business owners have expressed excitement over the new addition. “This brings not only delicious food but also new jobs to our community,” said Mary Thompson, owner of a nearby cafe. “It’s great to see such investment in our downtown area.”
The restaurant is part of a larger effort to revitalize downtown Ruston, which has seen significant growth in recent years. “We’re committed to fostering an environment that encourages new businesses, and the Delta Biscuit Company is a perfect fit,” said Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker, during the groundbreaking ceremony.
Funding for the project comes from a combination of private investments and city support, aimed at boosting the local economy. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2025, with hopes to open just in time for the holiday season.
As part of its community outreach, Delta Biscuit Company plans to partner with local organizations for events and initiatives that support families and those in need. “We believe in giving back to the communities we operate in,” said Karen Green, marketing director for Delta Biscuit Company.
Meanwhile, on the infrastructure front, the Tallulah Water Plant has initiated repairs on its storage tank, with work beginning on March 7, aimed at maintaining water quality for local residents. “These repairs are essential for the long-term health of our city’s water supply,” said Joe Miller, city engineer.
