Saturday Night Live Hosts And Musical Guests

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Fans of “Saturday Night Live” should prepare for disappointment as there will be no new episode airing tonight. Instead, NBC will re-broadcast an episode that originally aired on December 14, 2024, featuring Chris Rock as host and Gracie Abrams as the musical guest.

The episode is part of the show’s 50th season, which premiered on September 28, 2024. This season has included a range of high-profile hosts and musical acts, continuing a tradition that SNL has maintained for decades.

During the December episode, Rock opened with a lively monologue that highlighted notable topics from 2024, touching on figures such as Diddy, Donald Trump, and the infamous Menendez brothers. Audience members appreciated Rock’s sharp wit, with one fan commenting, “He literally summarized the whole year in 7 minutes and it was consistently hilarious.”

Alongside Rock, Gracie Abrams performed her hit song “That’s So True,” showcasing her growing prominence in the music industry. Abrams has previously collaborated with well-known artists such as Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, elevating her profile significantly in recent months.

The absence of a new episode this week comes on the heels of two recent high-profile installments, with comedian Shane Gillis hosting on March 1, followed by Lady Gaga taking the stage on March 8. Gaga’s performance included both hosting duties and musical numbers, marking her return to the show after her initial appearance in November 2013, when she performed songs from her latest album, “Mayhem.”

Although there is no new episode tonight, fans can catch up on past SNL episodes and relive the excitement surrounding Season 50. “SNL” continues to air on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC, with episodes also available for streaming on Peacock the following day.

With the departure of some cast members and the introduction of new ones in recent months, SNL remains committed to providing quality entertainment as it moves forward in its landmark season. Colin Jost and Michael Che continue their roles as anchors of the Weekend Update, while several new cast members have joined the roster.
