New Movies Streaming March 2025

LOS ANGELES, March 23, 2025 — This week brings a variety of new films to popular streaming platforms, appealing to diverse audiences. Prime Video‘s latest release, the mystery thriller “Holland,” features Nicole Kidman in a suspenseful narrative sure to captivate viewers. Streaming starts March 27, following a series of underwhelming original films on the platform this year.

Set in Holland, Michigan, the film centers on Nancy Vandergroot, portrayed by Kidman, who seemingly leads a perfect life with her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen, and their young son, portrayed by Jude Hill. However, as dark secrets emerge, Nancy’s idyllic existence is thrust into turmoil. Mimi Cave, known for the film “Fresh,” directs the project, promising a gripping exploration of suburban life.

Also releasing March 27 is the eagerly anticipated biopic “A Complete Unknown” on Hulu. The film follows the rise of folk music legend Bob Dylan, depicted by Timothée Chalamet, from anonymity in 1961 New York to becoming a cultural icon. The film delves into Dylan’s relationships with key figures such as Pete Seeger, played by Edward Norton, and Joan Baez, portrayed by Monica Barbaro, exploring the complexities of his life and career.

On Netflix, viewers can enjoy the romantic drama “The Life List,” available March 28. Based on Lori Nelson Spielman’s novel, the film pairs Sofia Carson and Kyle Allen in a poignant story about grief and self-discovery. After the death of her mother, Alex, played by Carson, embarks on a journey to complete her childhood bucket list, uncovering family secrets and perhaps finding romance along the way.

Amid these releases, Disney Plus debuts “Mufasa: The Lion King,” a prequel to the popular animated classic, also this week. The film explores Mufasa’s early years and his evolution into king, though critics note it lacks the emotional depth of its predecessor. Fans of the original will likely enjoy revisiting the beloved world of “The Lion King,” which features beautiful CGI.

Lastly, Max releases “Queer” on March 28, a drama starring Daniel Craig as Lee, a drug-addicted American struggling to connect with others until he meets Eugene, a former soldier. Their intense relationship challenges both characters to re-evaluate their lives amid the backdrop of 1950s Mexico.

These films represent a range of storytelling styles and genres, providing ample options for consumers seeking new viewing experiences this week. Whether it’s a thriller, biopic, romance, or drama, the streaming landscape is vibrant and diverse in March 2025.
