New Season of Percy Jackson Premiers on Disney+ December 10
BURBANK, California — The highly anticipated second season of Disney‘s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is set to premiere on December 10, 2025, with a two-episode debut. The series is based on Rick Riordan‘s popular novels, and this season will follow the adventures from “The Sea of Monsters.”
The first season, released in December 2023, garnered positive reception, leading to this renewal in February 2024. Walker Scobell returns as Percy Jackson, who discovers a new layer of challenges and allies as he embarks on a quest to rescue his friend Grover, portrayed by Aryan Simhadri.
Each of the eight episodes in Season 2 will be based on specific chapters from the source material. Key characters such as Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Tyson (Daniel Diemer), Percy’s Cyclopes half-brother, will play essential roles in the unfolding story. Executive producer Jon Steinberg shared that they aim to honor the characters and the legacy of the late Lance Reddick, who originally played Zeus.
New cast members include Courtney B. Vance as Zeus, Andra Day as Athena, and Tamara Smart as Thalia, daughter of Zeus. The series also introduces a trio of mythological characters, the Gray Sisters, played by Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho, who add humor and depth to the plot.
Within a month, fans can also tune into the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians Official Podcast” for exclusive behind-the-scenes insights. According to Disney representatives, this season promises a darker tone and more perilous scenarios for the young demigods.
As Scobell prepares for the return of his character, he expressed gratitude for continuing the story alongside a dedicated cast and crew. Reinforcing excitement, Disney plans to start production on Season 3 of the show next year.
