New Superman Image Revealed Ahead of 2025 DCU Launch
Warner Bros. has released a new image of David Corenswet as Superman in the upcoming 2025 film, offering fans a fresh glimpse of the Man of Steel in action. The still, unveiled as part of a larger preview of DC Studios’ 2025 slate, shows Clark Kent suited up on the bustling streets of Metropolis, with towering skyscrapers and pedestrians in the background.
The image, which highlights the iconic superhero’s new suit, has sparked excitement among fans as the film marks the official launch of James Gunn and Peter Safran‘s revamped DC Universe (DCU). The movie, simply titled ‘Superman,’ is set to explore the hero’s journey as he balances his Kryptonian heritage with his life on Earth. Gunn has described the film as a blend of ‘epic action, humor, and heart,’ promising a fresh take on the beloved character.
In addition to Corenswet’s Superman, the film will feature Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Other characters, including Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, are also set to appear. The inclusion of Superdog Krypto has further fueled anticipation, with fans eager to see how the classic elements of Superman’s lore will be reimagined.
The film’s trailer, released earlier this year, broke records with over 10 million views in its first 24 hours, surpassing the debut trailer for 2022’s ‘The Batman.’ This overwhelming response underscores the high expectations for Gunn’s vision of the DCU, which aims to revitalize the franchise after recent box office struggles.
‘Superman’ is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025, and will be followed by other DCU projects, including a Supergirl film starring Milly Alcock, set for release in 2026. Meanwhile, Gunn has confirmed that Batman will also play a significant role in the new universe, though details remain under wraps.
