New Trailer Unveiled for Blumhouse’s Chilling Horror Film ‘The Woman in the Yard’

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Blumhouse Productions has released a haunting new trailer for its upcoming horror film, The Woman in the Yard, starring Danielle Deadwyler. The film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, will debut in theaters on March 28, 2025.
In The Woman in the Yard, Deadwyler portrays Ramona, a mother grappling with the trauma of losing her husband in a car accident. As she attempts to raise her two children, a spectral figure appears in their yard, warning them that “today’s the day.” The film explores themes of grief and terror as the ominous presence disrupts their lives.
The trailer showcases a chilling atmosphere, depicting the mysterious woman dressed in black who intrudes upon their peaceful existence. Initially perceived as lost or mentally unstable, the figure’s intentions become increasingly sinister as she encroaches on the family. Ramona, now alone in a rural farmhouse with her 14-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, must confront this unsettling threat.
“You’ve been praying for me. Let me help you like you asked me to,” a voice ominously echoes in the trailer, hinting at deeper supernatural elements. This line raises questions about whether Ramona has unwittingly invited this entity into her home.
The film is written by first-time feature screenwriter Sam Stefanak and produced by Jason Blum, known for his work on films such as The Invisible Man and The Black Phone. Emmy-nominated producer Stephanie Allain also contributes to the project, with executive production from several key figures including Deadwyler and Collet-Serra.
As the film’s release approaches, anticipation builds among horror aficionados eager for a fresh take on the genre. Many believe The Woman in the Yard may establish itself as a standout entry in 2025’s horror lineup. The tension and dynamic visuals teased in the trailer have left audiences eager for more.
