NEW YORK CITY – November 21, 2025 – As the holiday season approaches, New York City is gearing up to offer a plethora of festive activities for both locals and tourists. With traditional events and new attractions, there is something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas season.

The iconic Rockefeller Christmas Tree will be lit on December 3, adorned with more than 50,000 LED lights and topped with a stunning Swarovski star. The tree will remain illuminated through mid-January, becoming a must-see for visitors and residents alike.

Another highlight is the Brooklyn Botanic Garden‘s ‘Lightscape’ event, which runs from November 21 to January 4, 2026. This beautifully illuminated trail features over a million lights and artwork by international artists, creating a magical winter wonderland.

Residents of the Dyker Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn transform their homes into holiday spectacles featuring elaborate decorations and bright lights from November 28 through New Year’s Eve. This event has become a favorite holiday tradition.

Ice skating at Bryant Park returns, complete with a cozy lodge and holiday shops, running from October 24 through March 1, 2026. Visitors can sip on hot cocoa while enjoying the winter festivities.

The Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden will take place from November 15 to January 11, 2026, showcasing intricate model trains navigating a miniature NYC landscape crafted with natural materials.

For those looking for an adults-only event, ‘Santa’s Secret,’ returning for its fifth year, features a speakeasy-themed holiday experience filled with live music and entertainment at 10 Columbus Circle, open until December 31.

Other notable events include Broadway Under the Stars performances at The Shops at Columbus Circle on Thursdays, festive caroling events in Central Park, and the 29th Annual Holiday Lighting ceremony on December 4. Additionally, visitors can partake in unique experiences like holiday wreath-making workshops in Brooklyn.
