New York Times Launches Multi-Game Leaderboard for Puzzle Fans

NEW YORK, NY — The New York Times is launching a multi-game leaderboard for puzzle enthusiasts. Revealed on April 22, the leaderboard will allow players to track their scores across popular games such as Wordle, Connections, and Spelling Bee.
Registered users can download the New York Times Games app on both iOS and Android devices to access the leaderboard. This feature aims to create a friendly competition among friends, family, and fellow puzzle solvers, including the scores of celebrity players.
The rollout of the leaderboard is expected to occur over the next few weeks. This news follows TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie‘s recent discussion about her daily gaming obsession, highlighting the enduring popularity of these puzzles.
In addition to the leaderboard, the New York Times announced a new book titled “Puzzle Mania,” scheduled for release in November. The book will include a collection of Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, and mini crossword puzzles, enhancing the puzzle-loving community’s experience.
“We are excited to offer our users a chance to showcase their puzzle prowess,” a spokesperson for the New York Times said.
