Al Hilal‘s Brazilian midfielder Neymar has reportedly issued a warning to his compatriots at Real Madrid about playing alongside French footballer Kylian Mbappe. Neymar and Mbappe were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from 2017 to 2023, playing together 136 times and jointly scoring 54 goals. Despite their on-field success, Neymar has expressed that his experience with Mbappe was challenging.

According to journalist Cyril Hanouna, Neymar communicated his concerns to fellow Brazilians at Real Madrid, such as Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao. Neymar reportedly described playing with Mbappe as a “catastrophic” experience. This revelation came to light during a discussion on a European radio network. Hanouna mentioned, “The Brazilians at Real Madrid are friends with Neymar. It has always been a rivalry between Neymar and Mbappe. Neymar sent a paper to the Brazilians, labeling his time with Mbappe as catastrophic, like hell.”

The relationship between Neymar and Mbappe has been described in the past as “hot and cold,” a sentiment echoed by Mbappe himself in September 2022. Despite having moved to different clubs, their rapport has not shown signs of improvement. Neymar is currently recovering from a serious knee injury sustained at Al Hilal, which has kept him out of action since last year. Meanwhile, Mbappe is anticipated to represent Real Madrid in their upcoming Champions League match against Stuttgart.
