Nick Jonas Temporarily Flees Stage After Laser Pointer Incident in Prague
The concert in Prague featuring the Jonas Brothers faced an unexpected interruption on Tuesday night when a laser pointer was aimed at Nick Jonas, compelling him to briefly leave the stage. The incident took place at the O2 Arena Praha and was confirmed by a representative of the venue.
Footage of the event surfaced online, showing Nick Jonas signaling a “time out” with his hands before running off stage. The O2 Arena spokesperson stated to Variety, “We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by the person. The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”
While representatives for the Jonas Brothers did not immediately reply to requests for comment, fans shared concerns on social media about the rising trend of security threats during live performances. Many users expressed alarm that artists should not have to face such issues during concerts, emphasizing the need for audience mindfulness and respect for performers.
Incidents of performer safety have been a growing concern, highlighted by other artists such as Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, who have spoken about similar security challenges on stage. This year Taylor Swift’s shows in Vienna, Austria, were canceled due to a reported ISIS-related threat, further accentuating the heightened state of alert in entertainment venues around the world.
Continuing their “Five Albums, One Night” tour, the Jonas Brothers are now moving to their next scheduled performance in Krakow, Poland. This is not the first time Nick Jonas has faced challenges on stage; he experienced a minor incident last year in Boston but managed to recover quickly during the show.
