Nick Offerman Amy Poehler Podcast

NEW YORK, NY — Nick Offerman, the 55-year-old actor known for his role in “Parks and Recreation,” announced at the New York premiere of his latest project that he will guest star on Amy Poehler‘s popular podcast, “Good Hang.” The episode is already scheduled for recording.

Offerman expressed excitement and a hint of anxiety about the upcoming interview, saying, “We keep in touch, but I’m a little daunted. It’s like being interviewed by your sister. I’m excited to see her, and I’m crazy about Amy. I just wanna do a good job.” He acknowledged the podcast’s growing platform and hopes to avoid his usual slip-ups.

Poehler, 54, launched “Good Hang” earlier this year, with its debut episode featuring former co-star Tina Fey. Since then, she has interviewed a range of guests, including notable celebrities and fellow actors.

Offerman has maintained connections with his “Parks and Recreation” co-stars since the show aired from 2009 to 2015. The cast even came together during the COVID-19 pandemic for a special fundraiser for Feeding America. He previously collaborated with Poehler on the reality competition series “Making It,” which aired from 2018 to 2021.

In a recent whimsical moment, Offerman surprised Poehler on a flight to Minneapolis. He took over the airplane’s PA system to read a humorous script involving their TV character, “Gary, Larry, and Terry Gergich.” Offerman’s co-star, Jim O’Heir, shared on Instagram his surprise at the special moment, describing the fun interaction before landing.

Currently, Offerman stars in the Netflix drama “Death by Lightning,” where he portrays Chester Arthur during the presidency of James Garfield. He shared insights about his preparation for the role, including a weight change to embody the character’s demeanor. “Right now, I’m a little trimmer, and so I have a sense of my posture. When you let yourself go like Chester Arthur, it creates a more slovenly demeanor,” he remarked.

Viewers can catch “Death by Lightning” streaming now on Netflix.
