Nikki Glaser Performing Comedy Show Boston

ST. LOUIS — Comedian Nikki Glaser has reached a notable milestone in her career, preparing for a thrilling three-night performance at the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston from February 21 to 23. As she embarks on this journey, her excitement reflects how much her life has transformed over the past year.

In the last ten months, Glaser, 40, has made significant strides in her comedy career. She gained national attention from Netflix’s ‘The Roast of Tom Brady‘ in May, where she delivered memorable lines, and earned nominations for an Emmy and Grammy for her 2024 HBO special. Recently, she became the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo, showcasing her ability to breathe fresh life into traditional comedy formats.

“It’s unreal,” Glaser told me regarding her upcoming Boston shows. “I’m completely blown away. I’ve somehow found myself at the cool party. I never want it to feel normal.”

During our conversation, Glaser touched on various topics, including her experiences with celebrities. She described her recent encounters with football stars Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady as a mix of excitement and nerves backstage at the roast. “Rob said he felt more nervous than before the Super Bowl,” she recalled, noting her pride in the duo’s performance during the event.

Reflecting on the roast’s intricate dynamic, Glaser shared, “Gronk saying, ‘Me know that not real money’ after I joked about Tom’s crypto losses was a fun two-fer.” Timing and reactions, she emphasized, are crucial to joke delivery, and Gronk’s response certainly added to her success in that moment.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Glaser highlights her friendship with Jordon Hudson, girlfriend of NFL coach Bill Belichick, as a positive development in her life. “She’s a really cool, smart girl who’s not being taken advantage of. I’m excited to be a Jordon Hudson truther; their relationship is hilarious,” Glaser said. She clearly values the connections she’s made with various personalities throughout her career.

As our discussion ventured into more personal territory, Glaser opened up about her thoughts on body image and mental health, revealing how her own insecurities fuel her comedic writing. “Once you’re famous and you spend hours in hair and makeup, it’s your responsibility to keep it real,” she said. “I wish someone had done it for me.”

Glaser’s commitment to honesty in her comedy is a hallmark of her work, as she often explores topics that may seem shameful or taboo. “Some material might suggest I’m out for blood, but I’m just trying to tell the truth,” she explained, making clear her intention is to foster connection rather than criticism.

As she prepares for her upcoming performances in Boston, her enthusiasm and recognition of her achievements are palpable. “I finally got a seat at the popular table,” Glaser reiterated, embodying the spirit of someone who recognizes her position in the entertainment industry while still striving for further success. With her talent and resilience, she shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Nikki Glaser will perform February 21-23 at 7 and 9:30 p.m. each night at the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston.
