Nikki Glaser Sells Out Mystic Lake Casino Shows Amid Comedy Stardom
PRIOR LAKE, Minn. — Comedian Nikki Glaser, fresh off her Golden Globes hosting triumph, sold out two shows at Mystic Lake Casino on Thursday and Friday, cementing her status as one of comedy’s most sought-after performers.
Glaser, 40, known for her sharp wit and self-deprecating humor, delivered a one-hour set that touched on everything from celebrity culture to darker societal issues. Her performance marked her first live show since hosting the Golden Globes earlier this month, where she earned widespread acclaim for her ability to roast Hollywood stars without alienating them.
“I’m so famous!” Glaser quipped shortly after taking the stage Thursday, acknowledging her recent rise to prominence. Her set included jabs at celebrities like Ben Affleck, Lizzo, and Jennifer Aniston, as well as candid discussions about Ozempic, tanning salons, and her envy of supermodels.
Longtime fans of Glaser, who has frequently performed at the Mall of America‘s House of Comedy over the past decade, know her for her relatable humor about the pressures of modern life. However, her new level of fame has shifted her persona. On stage, she balanced her trademark self-deprecation with bold commentary on topics like the recent plane crash in Washington, D.C., and societal taboos.
“You should board planes before active service members,” she joked, referencing the tragedy, before giving a shoutout to survivors of child molestation. These moments showcased Glaser’s willingness to tackle difficult subjects, even if they risked unsettling some audience members.
Opener Sean O'Connor set the tone for the evening with a sharp set that included a story about posting lewd pictures online as a teenager. His humor aligned with Glaser’s unfiltered style, making him a fitting addition to her tour.
Glaser’s rise to comedy stardom has been fueled by her recent projects, including hosting the HBO Max reality dating show “FBoy Island” and her standout performance at Netflix‘s Tom Brady roast last May. Her ability to skewer public figures while maintaining relatability has drawn comparisons to comedy legend Joan Rivers.
Her “Alive and Unwell” tour, which runs through June 2025, has seen strong demand, with tickets for many shows selling out quickly. Prices for her performances range from $48 to $254, depending on the venue and date. Glaser will also co-headline special shows with David Spade in Las Vegas this September.
As Glaser continues to tour, her blend of humor, honesty, and boldness ensures she remains one of the most talked-about comedians in the industry.
