Ninja Gaiden 4 Set to Launch on October 21 for Multiple Platforms
Los Angeles, CA — Ninja Gaiden 4, the latest entry in the long-running action-adventure franchise, is set to launch on October 21, 2025, across platforms including Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5. Co-developed by Team Ninja and Platinum Games, this is the first mainline game since Ninja Gaiden 3 was released in 2012.
The game will officially go live late on October 20 for U.S. players, allowing for a smooth transition from work to gaming. International players, particularly in London and Paris, can look forward to an early start on October 21.
The file sizes for the game vary by platform: 36.82GB for Xbox Series X/S, 54.9GB on PC, and a smaller 23.55GB for PS5. These sizes may change with updates post-launch.
Following titles like Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Ninja Gaiden 4 continues the story of Ryu Hayabusa alongside a new character, Yakumo, as they confront threats in Tokyo’s underworld. Jessica Cogswell, a prominent voice in gaming, described the new installment as accessible to newcomers while also providing depth for veterans, stating, “Ninja Gaiden 4 is whatever style of Ninja Gaiden you want it to be.”
The game is designed to maintain a balance between challenge and fairness, a key focus for the directors, Yuji Nakao and Masakazu Hirayama. They emphasized the importance of creating scenarios where players can still experience victory despite adversity. This is crucial in a genre known for its difficulty.
In preparation for the release, the review embargo is set to lift on October 20, offering insights from critics a day ahead of the launch. Those who preordered digitally will have access to the game on the PlayStation Store starting October 19, complete with the latest updates.
In June, the game received an M18 rating, indicating mature content, with extensive details on its stylized violence and combat mechanics. The game features various weapons, leading to highly graphic combat sequences that reflect the series’ legacy of brutal action.
Ninja Gaiden 4 promises a captivating experience for both seasoned players and those new to the franchise, with its complex characters and engaging gameplay only a week away from release.
