Popular Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun has announced the death of his daughter Zeenat Balogun. The veteran actor shared the tragic news on his verified Instagram account on Saturday, posting a picture of a candlelight surrounded by flowers, a post further adorned with heartbroken emojis.

The sorrowful announcement was later confirmed by fellow Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi Oke, who also took to her Instagram profile to express her condolences. In her post, she shared an image of a candle and wrote, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you @saidibalogun during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.”

The news of Zeenat’s death has garnered an outpouring of sympathy and support from other Nollywood figures. Notable actress Fathia Balogun, who was a stepmother to the late Zeenat, posted on Instagram a phrase from an Islamic condolence prayer: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

Among those who have publicly expressed their condolences are actors Kunle Afod and Adeniyi Johnson. The cause of Zeenat Balogun’s death remains unclear as of the time of this report.
