NVIDIA Sells Chips to Saudi Firm During U.S. Investment Forum

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — NVIDIA will sell over 18,000 of its latest Blackwell chips to the Saudi Arabian company Humain, CEO Jensen Huang announced on Tuesday. The announcement was made during the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum, which included a delegation led by the White House.
The 500 megawatt data center in Saudi Arabia will utilize NVIDIA’s GB300 Blackwell chips, recognized as among the company’s most advanced AI technology, which were announced earlier this year. This deal highlights the increasing global demand for NVIDIA’s chips, used for building and deploying advanced AI applications.
“I am so delighted to be here to help celebrate the grand opening, the beginning of Humain,” Huang stated. “It is an incredible vision that Saudi Arabia should build the AI infrastructure to help shape the future of this transformative technology.” Following the announcement, NVIDIA shares increased by 4% in trading.
In a recent statement, the U.S. Department of Commerce indicated plans to revise existing regulations concerning AI chips, previously implemented under President Joe Biden. Since 2023, NVIDIA has needed an export license due to national security measures surrounding the technology.
Humain, owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, aims to develop AI models and construct data center infrastructure, with future plans to deploy “several hundred thousand” NVIDIA GPUs.
<p“Saudi Arabia is rich with energy, transforming that energy through these giant NVIDIA AI supercomputers, which are basically AI factories,” Huang added.
