New York Times Strands Puzzle April 22 2025

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Players of The New York Times‘ latest word game, Strands, are in for a treat today, April 22, 2025, as the puzzle revolves around the tasty theme of counter offers. This intriguing edition combines elements of a word search with culinary themes, enticing gamers with a grid full of food-related words.

Kicking off the day with an update, CNET editor Gael Fashingbauer Cooper shared insights on the puzzle, stating, “If you’re looking for today’s Wordle, Connections, and Mini Crossword answers, look no further. The NYT Strands theme is deliciously food-oriented!” The puzzle presents a six by eight grid where players must find words linked by their letters. Each word is connected, either directly or diagonally, allowing for creative word shapes.

The spangram, which is a unique feature of this puzzle, highlights a special word that encompasses the entire theme. Today’s spangram is “CAFEMENU,” which sums up the food theme as players search for various related words. The challenge of Strands lies in the game’s requirement that every letter in the grid be part of an answer, pushing players to think dynamically as they explore potential solutions.

According to Cooper, solving Strands can begin with identifying hidden words. “If you’re stuck, find any words with four or more letters,” she recommended, noting that every three words found reveals one of the theme words. Today’s gameplay also encourages players to engage their knowledge of food and drink, making it a fun and educational experience.

As players tackle the puzzle, they may find themselves reminiscing about menu offerings from cafes and bistros, with answers like “SOUP
