Omaha Weather Forecast June 2025

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha residents can expect a cooler Sunday with a chance for showers and increasing wildfire smoke, according to the latest forecast.

After reaching 80 degrees on Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop into the low to upper 70s on Sunday as a cold front moves in overnight. Meteorologists predict that rain could start overnight and continue into the afternoon, with total amounts likely remaining low.

“We are looking at conditions changing throughout the day, including the chance for some isolated showers,” said meteorologist Caitlin Harvey. “However, it’s not expected to be a washout. You might need a rain jacket or umbrella handy for Sunday morning and early afternoon.”

Creeping into the forecast is also a potential flare-up of air quality issues due to wildfire smoke from Canada. Winds shifting to the north are expected to carry smoke into the region, with air quality likely dropping to unhealthy levels for sensitive groups.

Residents are advised to keep an eye on their outdoor activities as visibility and air quality may vary. “If you are sensitive to changes in air quality, consider limiting your time outdoors,” Harvey suggested.

Temperatures should remain in the upper 60s to lower 70s, with Omaha forecasted to reach 72 degrees. With the arrival of summer next week, temperatures are expected to rise again, hitting 90 degrees by midweek.

As residents gear up for warmer days ahead, they are reminded of the upcoming College World Series, which could bring additional chances of rain and storms.
