2025 Oscars Red Carpet Arrivals

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The 97th Academy Awards will take place tonight, March 2, 2025, celebrating the best in film over the past year at the Dolby Theatre. Comedian Conan O’Brien is set to host the ceremony for the first time, succeeding Jimmy Kimmel, who previously hosted four times, including last year.

“We’re going to have a great show,” O’Brien remarked during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” He humorously mentioned, “Things for me come together very late, so I started working on the Oscars about four hours ago and I’m going to pull an all-nighter.”

This year, the leading nominees include “The Brutalist,” “Emilia Pérez,” “Wicked,” “Conclave,” and “A Complete Unknown,” all competing for the prestigious Best Picture award. Notable performances will include a special medley by Oscar nominees Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande from their blockbuster musical “Wicked.”

Presenting awards will be 2024 Oscar winners Emma Stone, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Cillian Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr., adding to the star power of Hollywood’s biggest night.

The ceremony can be viewed live on ABC starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. For the first time, the Oscars will also stream live on Hulu, giving viewers additional options to catch all the glitz and glamour. ABC has televised the Academy Awards since 1976 and will continue through 2028.

If viewers do not have cable, they can access the Academy Awards via live TV streaming services that include ABC, such as Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, and AT&T TV, many of which currently offer free trials. The 2025 Oscars will feature a red carpet pre-show at 6:30 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu, while E! will also provide its “Live From E!: The Oscars” program starting at 4 p.m. ET.

As the ceremony draws closer, excitement builds with nominees hoping to take home an Oscar. In the Best Actress category, Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked”), Demi Moore (“The Substance”), Mikey Madison (“Anora”), Fernanda Torres (“I’m Still Here”), and Karla Sofía Gascón (“Emilia Pérez”) are all in the running for their first Academy Awards.

The competition for Best Actor features Adrien Brody (“The Brutalist”), Timothée Chalamet (“A Complete Unknown”), Colman Domingo (“Sing Sing”), Ralph Fiennes (“Conclave”), and Sebastian Stan (“The Apprentice”).

The Oscars ceremony is expected to last approximately three-and-a-half hours and will conclude around 10:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. PT, including various musical performances that will take center stage throughout the night. Confirmed acts are set to include Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, Queen Latifah, Raye, and others.

The pre-show events kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET with intriguing discussions and predictions from stars and fashion experts, transitioning to a celebration of dazzling red carpet arrivals that will lead viewers into the main event.

Oscar coverage will extend beyond the awards ceremony with E!’s “Oscars After Party” beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET, featuring commentary on the night’s memorable moments. Fans are encouraged to tune into all pre-show and post-show activities for a full Oscars experience.
