Al Pacino Memoir Sonny Boy

Oscar-winning actor Al Pacino opened up about his current romantic status and his upcoming memoir, ‘Sonny Boy,’ in an interview with PEOPLE. The Hollywood legend, who has famously never married, spoke candidly about his relationships and personal philosophies on love and companionship.

During the interview conducted on October 3, 2024, Pacino, age 84, was asked about his relationship status. He stated, “No. I have friendship,” emphasizing that he is not in a romantic relationship at this time. A representative for Pacino further clarified, “Al and Noor are very good friends, have been for years, and are co-parents to their son Roman.”

Pacino’s memoir delves into his many relationships over the years and touches on his views on marriage, which he refers to as “an entrance to the pain train.” He elaborates, “Everything’s a ticket to the pain train. A ticket or nothing. Are you going to go or not? No, I’ll stay here. I’ll stay here at the station, I’m not getting on.”

While Pacino acknowledges that marriage can be suitable for some, he never felt it aligned with his personal lifestyle. “I loved living together, and then… It depends on who you are getting along with. If you live together with someone, there’s got to be… You have to have this communion. If you don’t, it’s almost an invasion. So I like to know that if I find a human that I can connect with,” Pacino explains.

Pacino also expressed appreciation for his many friendships, saying, “I have friends all over the place. I must say I’m very lucky with that.”

Pacino’s relationship with Noor Alfallah began in 2022, and they welcomed their son, Roman, in 2023. Alfallah, a producer of films such as ‘The Apprentice,’ shared insights about their relationship’s beginning during the COVID-19 pandemic in an interview with Vogue Arabia. “I thought, wow, that’s Al Pacino. I went to film school, so I wasn’t dumb about who he was,” she recalled. “He’s a very talented and unique person. But I had no intention of thinking like, oh, he is going to be.”

Despite rumors of a breakup, representatives have confirmed that Pacino and Alfallah remain friends and are co-parenting their son, Roman. Recently, Pacino was present at Alfallah’s birthday party, assisting her in blowing out the candles on her cake.

‘Sonny Boy’ will be available for purchase starting October 15, 2024, wherever books are sold.
