Pamela Anderson Dakota Fanning Film Alma

LONDON, EnglandPamela Anderson, Dakota Fanning, and Lindsay Duncan will star in Sally Potter‘s upcoming comedy-drama, “Alma.” The film is set to begin shooting in September on location in England.

This production follows Potter’s recent acclaim for her film, “The Last Showgirl,” which earned her nominations for a Golden Globe and SAG Award. The filmmakers have yet to disclose the specific roles of the cast members.

Joining Anderson, Fanning, and Duncan in the ensemble cast are Arinzé Kene, Esther McGregor, Esmé Creed-Miles, and Earl Cave. Bankside Films will handle worldwide sales, introducing the film to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.

The story revolves around an extended family that gathers to scatter their mother’s ashes. However, they soon discover that her lingering spirit humorously reveals secrets about their lives.

<p"Looking for the alchemical mix of great screen presences can feel like a treasure hunt," Potter said. She expressed excitement about working with these talented actors, whom she has long admired.

“Alma” is produced by Christopher Sheppard of Adventure Pictures and Rebecca O’Brien of Sixteen Films. Additionally, it has co-producers from France and Germany. Stephen Kelliher serves as executive producer for Bankside Films.

Kelliher remarked on the project, stating, “It’s an honor to work with Sally on this brilliantly clever and funny story of a family in conflict at the most sensitive of times. The cast speaks for itself, and we can’t wait for audiences to enjoy it.”

Potter is known for her innovative storytelling and has previously directed notable films like “Orlando,” “The Party,” and “Ginger & Rosa.” She continues to be a significant figure in the film industry, with her works receiving over 40 international awards.
