Paramore’s Hayley Williams Helps Grandfather Release Debut Album After 50 Years

CASPER, Wyo. — Paramore’s Hayley Williams is assisting her grandfather, Rusty Williams, in releasing his debut album, which was recorded nearly 50 years ago. The album is set to drop later this year, bringing to life music that has remained unheard for decades.

Rusty Williams, now 78, originally recorded his music in the early 1970s in a home studio. However, due to various circumstances, the recordings were never released until Hayley decided to revisit them after years of family discussions. “It’s always been a dream of his to have his music heard,” Hayley said in a recent interview.

The album, titled “Rusty’s Journey,” features a blend of folk and country genres that reflect Rusty’s life as a musician and his experiences. Hayley noted that her grandfather’s lyrics resonate deeply with the struggles and stories he faced, capturing a raw sense of nostalgia. “There are themes of love, loss, and resilience,” she mentioned.

Hayley has begun promoting the album through her social media channels, sharing snippets of the songs along with personal anecdotes about her grandfather’s musical journey. “I want people to know him not just as my grandfather but as a talented artist with a lot to say,” she added.

The release is being produced by Hayley under her own label and is expected to be available on all major streaming platforms. In anticipation of the album’s launch, a single is set to be released next month. “It’s exciting to finally share his voice with the world,” Hayley said.
