Pati Jinich Unveils New Cooking Show and Recipes

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chef Pati Jinich is back with a new cooking show that promises flavorful dishes and culinary adventures. On Monday, April 28, 2025, the Mexican chef and Emmy-nominated television host appeared on ‘Good Morning America‘ and ‘GMA3’ to discuss her latest PBS series, ‘Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana.’
This three-part series, which airs Tuesdays from April 29 to May 13, 2025, takes viewers on a journey along the Pan-American Highway, highlighting the diverse flavors and stories from Alaska to Argentina.
During her appearances on the morning shows, Jinich showcased several recipes inspired by her travels. Viewers learned how to prepare Chicken Adobo, White Rice with Fried Plantains, Chicken Burritos, and Pico de Gallo Salsa, all adapted from restaurants featured in the series.
‘I am excited to share these recipes with everyone,’ Jinich said. ‘Each dish carries a story and a connection to the people I met along the way.’
One highlight is her Chicken Adobo, marinated with soy sauce, garlic, and ginger before being braised to perfection. ‘It’s a comforting dish that brings warmth and flavor to the table,’ she added.
In addition to Chicken Adobo, Jinich demonstrated how to prepare White Rice with Fried Plantains. ‘The plantains are not just a side; they add texture and sweetness to the meal,’ she explained. The recipe features perfectly cooked white rice topped with crispy plantains, ideal for pairing with the chicken.
Jinich also introduced audiences to her Chicken Burrito recipe, inspired by Cruz’s Mexican Grill in Utqiagvik, Alaska. ‘Despite being remote, they serve some of the best Mexican food,’ she noted. The burrito filling combines ripe tomatoes, guajillo chiles, and seasoned chicken, wrapped in warm tortillas.
‘Pico de Gallo is essential,’ Jinich said, advocating for fresh ingredients to complement the dishes. She provided a simple recipe using tomatoes, onions, and cilantro that can elevate any meal.
Catch the full recipes and more details as Jinich continues to explore the heart of the Americas through food in her new series.
