SAN JOSE, Calif., April 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) has unveiled a significant enhancement to its checkout experience, introducing a new advertising campaign featuring actor Will Ferrell and a massive sweepstakes offering up to $10 million in prizes. This initiative is designed to incentivize customers to use PayPal at checkout, with 1,000 winners each day for 100 days receiving reimbursements for up to $100 of their purchases.

Starting this month, the campaign will promote the benefits of using PayPal and Pay Later options as Ferrell showcases how easy it is to shop with the payment platform. Ferrell’s well-known comedic style will be on full display as he illustrates the flexibility consumers have with both immediate and deferred payment choices at participating merchants.

To improve user experience, PayPal has implemented several technical enhancements. These include a 40% reduction in checkout latency and the introduction of biometric login features, allowing for quicker and more secure transactions. Customers who use PayPal Pay in 4 can also access pre-qualified spending amounts, helping them easily determine how much they can afford to spend.

As part of the new features, PayPal Debit Mastercard users can earn cash back on monthly spending, with a new option available for rideshare and public transit purchases. Users can earn up to 5% cash back on spending in designated categories, further encouraging the use of PayPal for everyday transactions.

Through ‘The Great PayPal Checkout’, the cash giveaway promises significant incentives for users. With the potential to cover 100,000 purchases over 100 days, this program aims to boost customer engagement with the platform. Participants can increase their chances of winning by using PayPal Checkout more frequently, with each entry providing an additional opportunity for rewards.
