Pete Davidson Elsie Hewitt Fatherhood News

LOS ANGELES, California — Pete Davidson is eagerly looking forward to becoming a father for the first time. The 31-year-old comedian is expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, 29. During an appearance on the August 6 episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, he expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m stoked. I can’t wait. Let’s go. I’ve never been more excited for anything.”

Davidson shared a light-hearted exchange he had with Eddie Murphy, his co-star from the upcoming film The Pickup. He recalled Murphy telling him, “I got no advice for you. Because you’re on your own. You can’t tell anyone how to be a parent. You know, you’re gonna do your own thing.” Davidson’s comment brought laughter from the audience.

The couple announced Hewitt’s pregnancy on July 16, just four months after confirming their relationship through social media. A source shared that while they didn’t plan for the family addition, they are “over the moon” and “so excited.” The source added, “They have a really playful relationship, and things are going really well.”

Speaking about the timing of their pregnancy, Davidson admitted, “Pete has always wanted to be a dad and thinks the timing in his life is perfect. He couldn’t have done it a few years ago but is in a very different place in life now.”

Davidson, whose father Scott Davidson died in the September 11, 2001, attacks, expressed a long-held desire to be a parent. In past interviews, he has shared his dreams of raising a child to experience a family life he missed growing up. “I’m definitely a family guy,” Davidson said in a 2020 interview, adding, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid.”

As Davidson and Hewitt prepare for this new chapter, he remains optimistic about parenthood. “It’s like, super corny, but it would be so fun. Dress up the little dude. I’m so excited for that chapter,” he stated. From now on, he aims to improve himself to make fatherhood an easier journey.
