Peter Criss Solo Album Announcement

NEW YORK, NY — Peter Criss, the founding drummer of KISS, will release his first solo album since 2007’s One for All this fall. Criss shared the news on a recent episode of the KissFAQ podcast, exciting fans with a message for the KISS Army.

“I have an announcement,” Criss said in a video streamed to fans. “I have my new rock and roll album coming out in the fall, and I really hope you like it, man. And I wanna say God bless to each and every one of you.”

According to KISS historian Julian Gill, who was present during a private listening session, the album is described as a “hard rock, kick-ass album.” It features production by Barry Pointer, who has a history of working with noted artists like Ozzy Osbourne and Mötley Crüe.

The album includes an impressive roster of musicians, including guitarists John 5 and Michael McLaughlin, bassist Billy Sheehan, and pianist Paul Shaffer. Backup vocalists on the project are expected to include Dennis and Sharron Collins and Cathryn Manning.

<p“I was honored to listen to this album at Peter's studio, and it was absolutely amazing to hear this new music,” Gill said. “It was vibrant and powerful. I think KISS fans are gonna love this album. Peter’s drum sound is absolutely massive and his vocals are powerful.”

This new album will mark Criss’s first solo release in nearly two decades, following his last album in 2007. Criss has overcome many challenges, including a retirement from touring in 2017 and a personal battle with breast cancer, which he discussed previously.

Criss first departed KISS in 1980 but returned for a reunion tour in 1996. He left the band again in 2004 and has not performed publicly since his retirement, making this upcoming album a significant development for both him and his fans.

While a release date has yet to be confirmed, expectations are high for the album, which is anticipated to arrive sometime between September and November.
