Phil Robertson Duck Dynasty Obituary

MONROE, Louisiana — Phil Robertson, the beloved patriarch of the Robertson family and star of the reality series Duck Dynasty, has died at the age of 79. His family announced his passing on Sunday, May 25, following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease that was revealed in late 2024.

His granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, reflecting on her final moments with her grandfather. She posted several photos of them together and quoted a Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 5:17. Sadie reminisced about a poignant conversation they had, where he encouraged her to go “full strength ahead.”

“It was his testimony that changed his life, our family’s life, and thousands of others,” Sadie wrote. She noted that, upon further reflection, the impact Phil had was more accurately measured in millions. “He lived in a small, humble home and yet touched millions with the hope of Jesus,” she added.

Phil’s son Willie Robertson, along with his wife Korie, also expressed their grief, stating, “We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather is now with the Lord.” They thanked those who offered prayers and support during this difficult time.

Duck Dynasty aired on A&E for 11 seasons from 2012 to 2017, showcasing the life of the Robertson family and their duck-calling business, Duck Commander, which Phil founded in 1972. Under his leadership, Duck Commander grew to become a popular brand in the hunting world.

Fans and fellow cast members have shared memories and messages of support on social media. Many highlighted Phil’s wisdom and faith, calling him a source of inspiration and a role model. “Phil was like America’s grandpa,” one fan commented, while another noted that he put smiles on the faces of many.

In a statement, the family’s company, Duck Commander, also paid tribute to Phil, highlighting his love for Jesus and his commitment to sharing his faith. “The lives impacted by one man’s willingness to share the gospel is truly remarkable,” they said.

As the Robertson family plans a private service, they expressed their intent to hold a public celebration of Phil’s life in the near future. His legacy, marked by faith, family, and a love for hunting, will continue to inspire many.
