Philadelphia Flower Show 2025 Promises Stunning Displays and Sustainability Insights

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The 2025 Philadelphia Flower Show returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Center from March 1 to March 9, showcasing its latest theme, “Gardens of Tomorrow,” emphasizing innovation and sustainability in horticulture.
This year’s show marks nearly 200 years since its inception, reflecting a long-standing tradition that draws thousands of floral enthusiasts each spring. Seth Pearsoll, the show’s vice president and creative director, describes the theme as an invitation to explore gardening’s future through visionary designs and climate-conscious practices. “Through the simple act of gardening, we plant seeds of hope for a greener future,” Pearsoll stated.
Visitors can expect a breathtaking experience as they enter through a custom-tunneled entrance dubbed “Futura Florentia,” flanked by 21 Okame cherry trees in full bloom and complemented by water features. This year’s exhibit by renowned Japanese designer Kazuyuki Ishihara focuses on climate adaptation and ecosystem sustainability.
The Flower Show features nearly 200 vendors offering a variety of goods including plants, garden tools, and artisanal crafts. The Marketplace, which spans a large area of the convention center, is a hub for visitors to purchase items that enhance their gardening experience.
Tickets are available online and at the door, with prices varying based on the day and time. Adult tickets for weekdays cost $39.99, while weekend tickets are priced at $49.99. Discounts are available for students and children, and group tickets are offered for parties of 25 or more.
Activities for families include educational lectures, hands-on workshops, and special events such as “Family Frolic” day on March 2, featuring interactive sessions for children. Attendees can create personalized bouquets, jewelry, and more under expert guidance.
Additionally, a wellness-focused event titled “Blossom & Breathe” is scheduled for March 7, where participants can engage in activities that blend nature with health and mindfulness. Tickets for this event are available for $75 and include a yoga session led by local instructors.
Every day, the show will feature the “Know to Grow” series, where gardening experts share knowledge on various topics, including native plants and urban gardening strategies.
To accommodate the influx of visitors, public transportation options are readily available, with expanded service on weekends provided by SEPTA’s regional rail lines. Various parking facilities are located nearby, although attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure spots.
The Flower Show is a major fundraising effort for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, which directs proceeds toward community and regional gardening programs. In 2023, the event generated an estimated $60-$65 million in economic impact within Philadelphia.
