Phoebe Robinson Favorite Books Reading

New York, NY — Comedian and author Phoebe Robinson, founder of Tiny Reparations Books, expresses her love for literature, describing books as a significant part of her life. “To know me is to know I love books,” Robinson tells Page Six. She founded her publishing imprint five years ago and is passionate about sharing inspiring stories.

Robinson, known for co-creating the podcast and series “2 Dope Queens,” says her journey from blogger to New York Times bestseller to imprint founder has been “a dream come true.” She finds joy in reading, whether on a plane, at home, or on the subway. “Reading is a big part of my life,” Robinson adds.

Recently, she revealed her top six must-read books, showcasing a mix of nonfiction and essays. One of her favorites is a biography about Marsha P. Johnson, a celebrated Black transgender activist. Robinson notes, “What Tourmaline does is necessary and moving. Marsha is one of the seminal figures of our time, and to finally have her life captured in a book feels like the biggest gift.”

Among her other picks is a book by Samantha Irby that left her laughing out loud. “Her ability to be vulnerable, hilarious, and raw should be studied,” she says. Robinson was also captivated by Cathy Park Hong’s compelling writing, stating, “I read this in one day. That is high praise!”

Robinson praises Susan Cain’s exploration of introversion as providing clarity. She reflects on her early writing days with a book by Stephen King, emphasizing the importance of delving into the craft of writing. “Getting into the weeds of the craft is one of the best ways to honor what we as writers get to do,” she says.

As Robinson continues to curate meaningful stories through her imprint, her enthusiasm for books remains unwavering. “Whether it’s on a plane or in the corner nook of my couch, books are essential,” she concludes, celebrating her literary journey.
