Pitty Returns to Caxias do Sul for 20th Anniversary Tour Show

CAXIAS DO SUL, Brazil — Celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album “Admirável Chip Novo,” Brazilian rock star Pitty will perform in Caxias do Sul on Friday, October 14, after a decade-long hiatus from the city. The show will take place at the Ginásio do Sesi, with doors opening at 9 p.m. Local band Magnata Joe will open the show.

Pitty’s tour, titled ACNXX, features a retrospective setlist that includes beloved hits from her entire career. The performance is expected to resonate with long-time fans, showcasing songs like “Anacrônico,” “Serpente,” “Te Conecta,” “Máscara,” “Equalize,” and “Me Adora.” This nostalgic concert will highlight her evolution as an artist since the release of her groundbreaking first album.

The tour also marks a reunion of the original band members, with Pitty joined by Martin Mendonça on guitar, Paulo Kishimoto on bass, and Nico on drums. The album “Admirável Chip Novo,” released in 2003, drew inspiration from Aldous Huxley’s novel “Brave New World” and critically examined themes of consumerism, technology, and self-image.

The album received significant recognition, going platinum by selling over 250,000 copies. It earned Pitty the title of Best New Artist at the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira and two awards at the 2004 Video Music Brasil (VMB): Audience’s Choice for the title track and Best Rock Video for “Equalize.” After the performance in Caxias do Sul, the tour will continue to Criciúma on Saturday, October 15.

In addition to Pitty’s concert, the city will host a series of free outdoor performances featuring the local forró trio Xêro de Fulô, which will take place over the weekend. On Saturday, October 15, they will perform at Praça Dante Alighieri at 1:30 p.m. and later at Praça Padavena, starting at 3:20 p.m. On Sunday, October 16, the group will continue their circuit at Praça Estação Cidadania and Parque da Lagoa.
