Pokémon TCG: Surging Sparks Expansion Released – Here Are the Most Valuable Cards
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) has just released its latest expansion, Surging Sparks, on November 8, 2024. This set is the eighth expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series and features a total of 252 cards, including several highly sought-after and valuable additions.
One of the standout cards in the Surging Sparks set is the Stellar Pikachu ex illustration rare card, which has quickly become the most expensive card in the set, currently valued at over $300 on TCGPlayer.com. Other highly valuable cards include Latias ex and Latios ex, both of which are illustration rare cards and are priced at $179.99 and $44, respectively.
The set also includes other notable cards such as Stellar Hydreigon ex, Milotic ex, and Ceruledge ex, all of which are illustration rare and highly prized by collectors. The Stellar Hydreigon ex card, for example, is valued at $90, while the Milotic ex card is selling for $87.79. The Ceruledge ex Double Rare card is another highly sought-after card in the set.
In addition to these rare cards, the Surging Sparks expansion includes a variety of common and uncommon cards featuring popular Pokémon like Exeggcute, Vivillon, and Paldean Tauros. Cards like Clemont’s Quick Wit, which shows Clemont from Pokémon X and Y working on an invention, and Alolan Exeggutor ex, which features a festive and powerful Pokémon, are also gaining attention for their unique illustrations and gameplay abilities.
The release of Surging Sparks also comes with various store promotions, including exclusive promo cards available at GameStop, Best Buy, and the Pokémon Center. These promotions include cards featuring Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Terapagos, all central characters in the Pokémon Horizons anime.
As with any new Pokémon TCG expansion, the prices and values of these cards are expected to fluctuate in the first few weeks after release. Collectors and players are advised to keep an eye on market trends as the set settles and more cards become available.
