Halifax Regional Police in Dartmouth have issued a public alert regarding a potentially dangerous armed suspect in the vicinity of Gaston Road. Residents are advised to exercise caution and cooperate with authorities.

The suspect, described as a white male in his late 40s with a bald head, tattoos on both arms, and around six feet tall, weighing 170 pounds, was reportedly last seen wearing a blue jacket, a black T-shirt, jeans, and work boots in the Dartmouth area.

An emergency alert, sent out around 10:20 a.m., has urged the public to avoid the Gaston Road area and refrain from approaching the suspect. The Halifax Regional Police have instructed individuals to contact 911 immediately if they spot the individual but emphasize not to engage with him.

Multiple police units have responded to the scene, with a portion of Gaston Road being closed off as a precaution. Law enforcement officials, armed with long guns, have established a perimeter in the vicinity.

According to reports, the incident was initiated in response to a call at approximately 9:20 a.m. citing a man with a firearm making threats to known acquaintances. However, the individual fled before police arrived on the scene, prompting the ongoing investigation and manhunt.
