On a wonderful summer evening, the Quebec Plains came alive with a vibrant pop music extravaganza at the Festival d'été de Québec. Despite initial concerns of rain, the Jonas Brothers and Carly Rae Jepsen took to the stage, captivating the audience under cloudy skies. The event was captured and narrated in real-time by Le Soleil journalist, Frédérick Matte.

The Jonas Brothers, comprising Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas, ignited the crowd with a nostalgic journey through their discography. Performing hits from their five albums, the trio transported the audience back to the early 2000s, interweaving some newer tracks and surprises. References to their famous roles in Camp Rock alongside Demi Lovato sparked excitement among the festival-goers.

Accompanied by a talented ensemble of eleven musicians and vocalists, the brothers delivered a spirited performance, showcasing their growth as artists. From energetic renditions of their own songs to covers like Frankie Valli‘s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You the Jonas Brothers left a lasting impression on the lively crowd.

Carly Rae Jepsen, returning to Quebec after nearly a decade, enthralled the audience with a mix of her latest tracks from albums like “The Loveliest Time” and crowd-pleasers such as “Call Me Maybe”. Despite some initial sound issues, Jepsen’s infectious energy and strong vocals had the audience singing along and dancing under the open sky.

Opening the evening was Diamond Cafe, also known as Tristan Thompson, who set the stage on fire with a dynamic performance. The Canadian artist, known for his Michael Jackson impersonations, charmed the early arrivals with his retro-pop style and funky vibes, setting the perfect tone for the night.

The Festival d’été de Québec continues until July 14th, promising more musical delights for attendees to enjoy. The event is a testament to the enduring appeal and excitement of live music, uniting fans from all walks of life in celebration.
