K Pop Concert Fan Support Lgbt

Los Angeles, CA — Bain, a member of the K-pop group Just B, publicly came out as part of the LGBT community during a concert on April 22. The 23-year-old artist made this announcement while performing solo on stage at The Vermont Hollywood hall, a rare move in the often private world of K-pop.

During the concert, Bain, whose real name is Song Byeong-hee, told the audience, “I am proud to be a part of the LGBT community.” The statement was met with enthusiastic cheers from fans. He followed his announcement with a performance of Lady Gaga‘s empowering anthem “Born This Way,” waving a rainbow-colored flag in celebration.

After the concert, Bain shared a heartfelt message on social media, encouraging others in the LGBT community and those who are still exploring their identities. “You are seen, you are loved, and you were born this way,” he wrote, calling Lady Gaga “my queen.” His bandmates expressed their support, with member Siwoo sharing that he was emotional during Bain’s performance, stating, “I know how hard it was for him, and that made me want to cry more.”

Fans also took to social media to express their pride and support for Bain. Comments on his Instagram post included sentiments like, “We love you so much and are so proud of you for being yourself.” The positive reactions highlight a growing acceptance of LGBT identities among K-pop fans.

Just B, which debuted in 2021 and consists of six members, has released five EPs to date. Despite the challenges of coming out in South Korea’s entertainment industry, where homosexuality remains a taboo topic, Bain’s announcement adds to a small but growing list of K-pop stars who have publicly shared their identities. Recently, Lara, an Indian-American member of the girl group Katseye, also came out as queer.

The band’s agency, BLUEDOT Entertainment, chose not to make a separate statement about Bain’s coming out, citing its personal nature. The historic moment signifies a breakthrough in the K-pop industry, which has been known for its restrictions on personal expression.
