A recent poll conducted among loyal fans of the long-running British mystery series, Death in Paradise, has revealed fascinating insights into the most beloved detectives to have graced the screens of St Marie.

The poll, which encompassed the four lead detectives over the years, saw DI Humphrey Goodman emerge as the clear favorite with an impressive 42% of the total votes. Goodman, portrayed by Kris Marshall, was a prominent figure on the show, captivating audiences for three seasons before embarking on a new chapter of his life with love interest Martha Llyod.

In a close second, Richard Poole, portrayed by Ben Miller, garnered 28% of the votes. Poole, the initial detective in the series, met a tragic end in the second season after a fatal stabbing with an ice pick.

Neville Parker, the brainy British detective played by Ralf Little, secured the third spot with 16% of the votes. Through four seasons, Parker navigated the intricate crimes of Saint Marie with his astute investigative skills.

Jack Mooney, portrayed by Ardal O’Hanlon, claimed the fourth position with 12% of the votes, gracing the show in seasons six to nine before passing the torch to the current detective, Neville Parker.

However, 2% of respondents found it challenging to select a definitive favorite detective, suggesting a diverse range of preferences among the fan base.
