Portsmouth International Port Cruise Ships 2025

Portsmouth International Port is gearing up for a record-breaking year in 2025, with 94 cruise ships scheduled to set sail from its harbor. The port’s 2025 schedule includes the debut of Ritz-Carlton’s luxury yacht, Ilma, and other maiden voyages, each expected to boost the local economy by £1.5 million per sailing.

The port’s 2025 lineup features regular cruise lines such as Fred Olsen and Marella, with Fred Olsen’s Borealis marking the first call of the year on January 4. The ship will take passengers on a voyage to the Canary Islands. Ritz-Carlton’s Ilma, which launched in September 2024, will make its inaugural British Isles voyage from Portsmouth in July, offering a nine-night luxury experience starting at £11,100 per person.

Other notable first-time sailings include Silverseas, Swan Hellenic, and Crystal Cruises. Additionally, Virgin VoyagesScarlet Lady, which launched in Portsmouth in 2021, will return for multiple sailings in July, August, and September. Each cruise call is estimated to generate up to £1.5 million for the city’s economy through passenger spending and berthing charges.

Andrew Williamson, head of cruise and ferry at Portsmouth International Port, highlighted the port’s achievements: “2024 has been a great year for the port. Our new terminal has welcomed over 168,000 cruise passengers, and we’ve secured long-term partnerships with unique cruise offerings.” The port was also recognized for its efforts, winning an award for the second consecutive year.

In a move toward sustainability, Portsmouth International Port will debut the UK’s first shore power system, providing cleaner energy for ships across multiple berths simultaneously. Councillor Steve Pitt, leader of Portsmouth City Council, emphasized the port’s importance: “The international port is a vital part of our city’s infrastructure and history, generating £9.2 million in profit, which goes directly back into council services.”

Pitt added, “I am delighted to see that 2025 will be another successful year for cruise at the port. Every year, cruise calls increase, boosting local tourism and raising Portsmouth’s profile among global brands. The port is also making bold steps in sustainability with an aim to be emissions-free by 2050.”
