Primary School Admissions Results Released in Plymouth and North East Lincolnshire
Thousands of families in Plymouth and North East Lincolnshire eagerly awaited the primary school admissions results, which were released today. The Plymouth Council and North East Lincolnshire Council have been diligent in ensuring that the process was completed efficiently, allowing parents to prepare for their children’s schooling journey.
Notifications of school places for September 2024 have been sent out, giving parents a week to accept the offer. Responding through the online portal is the preferred method, as failure to do so promptly may result in the allocated place being given to another student.
This year, 98.78% of Plymouth children (2357) secured one of their top three school preferences. Only 1.22% (29) did not receive any of their preferred schools and were assigned to the nearest school with available spots.
In North East Lincolnshire, 99.36% of children were offered their first-choice school, while 0.5% secured their second choice. Only 0.14% were not allocated their preferred options and were placed in catchment or nearby schools with available slots according to the published criteria.
All late applications and preference changes will be reviewed in a second round of allocations scheduled for May 2024.
Parents dissatisfied with their child’s school placement will receive guidance on how to appeal the decision. The Council’s School Admissions Team is ready to provide impartial advice and support.
Additional information on the admissions process and appeals can be found on the respective council websites. For those in North East Lincolnshire, the Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) event recently held at Grimsby Town Hall showcased opportunities in various sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, digital, and renewables.
Contact details for further inquiries are available on the council websites or can be obtained by phone.
