The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the results of the Class 10th examinations today, with an overall pass percentage of 97.24%. The results were revealed during a press conference, where the board also released the merit list and subject-specific pass percentages. The exam, which took place in February and March, saw a total of 3 lakh students appearing for the exams across various centers in Punjab.

Among the highlights of the Class 10th results, girls have outshined the boys with a pass percentage of 98.11%. Aditi from Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School in Ludhiana secured the first position in the board examination with a perfect score of 650/650. Her classmate, Elisha Sharma, stood as the second rank holder, while Karmanpreet Kaur from Amber Public Senior Secondary School in Amritsar clinched the third position.

The rural area students performed exceptionally well, with a pass percentage of 97.58%, surpassing the urban area students whose pass percentage stood at 96.60%. Private schools have also displayed a higher passing percentage compared to government and aided schools, with a pass percentage of 98.01%.

It is notable that among the 9,4270 students who cleared the exam, the majority were from rural areas, reflecting the performance trend. The PSEB also accommodated 11 transgender candidates this year, out of which 10 students cleared the examination.

Students can check their individual results online on the official website at pseb.ac.in tomorrow morning. The official announcement regarding the process for applying for compartments and revaluation is expected to be made soon after the results are declared.
