Quinta Brunson Expresses Interest In Adapting Popular Novels Into Film And Television

Quinta Brunson, a rising star in the entertainment industry, has recently revealed her interest in adapting popular novels into film and television projects. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brunson expressed her desire to adapt Emma Cline‘s novel, The Guest, into a cinematic experience.

While discussing her vision for The Guest adaptation, Brunson pondered the challenges she might face as a Black showrunner taking on a story that does not center on Black characters. She referenced Shonda Rhimes, the acclaimed creator of Grey's Anatomy, as a trailblazer who successfully navigated similar territory in television.

Brunson’s creative aspirations do not stop at The Guest; she also expressed a strong interest in remaking Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The classic film, starring Marilyn Monroe, has caught Brunson’s eye, with her envisioning herself in the iconic role played by Monroe.

Intriguingly, Brunson hinted at the possibility of casting Danielle Brooks in the lead role. The talented actress, known for her work on Orange Is the New Black, has the singing, acting, and comedic skills that Brunson believes are essential for the role originally portrayed by Monroe.

After the success of her hit show, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Brunson’s ambitions to bring fresh perspectives to beloved stories in film and television have cemented her position as a formidable force in the industry.
