Raider Class Revealed in New Elden Ring: Nightreign Trailer

LOS ANGELES, CA — FromSoftware unveiled a new character trailer for its upcoming multiplayer survival game, Elden Ring: Nightreign, showcasing the Raider class. This trailer released on April 18, 2025, highlights the Raider’s strength and unique gameplay elements, providing fans a closer look at what to expect.
The Raider, clad in a fur cloak and horned helmet, wields a massive axe, embodying a tank-like presence on the battlefield. His gameplay style resonates with players who prefer a straightforward, aggressive approach, often described by fans as the “unga bunga” technique. This term reflects the desire for a brute-force style that has become popular within the community.
In the trailer, the Raider demonstrates his combat skills by tanking blows from enemy swordsmen and unleashing powerful attacks against dragons. One of his signature moves involves stomping on the ground to summon a giant stone slab that stuns enemies and provides a tactical advantage to his allies by creating elevated platforms.
The game is set to feature a total of eight playable characters, called Nightfarers, at launch. The Raider is the sixth character revealed, joining others such as the Duchess, Guardian, Recluse, Wylder, and Ironeye, with two more yet to be announced. Each character offers distinct abilities and playstyles, catering to a variety of player preferences.
Elden Ring: Nightreign is a cooperative spin-off set in Limgrave, reimagined as Limveld. Players can engage in solo or cooperative gameplay, teaming up to prepare for the final boss over three in-game days. The game incorporates battle royale elements, including a shrinking play area, adding urgency and strategy to each session.
Hidetaka Miyazaki, known for his work on the Dark Souls series, co-created the game with George R.R. Martin, author of A Game of Thrones. Scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, it will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
As anticipation builds for the game, FromSoftware appears dedicated to crafting a fresh experience tied closely to the Elden Ring legacy. The Raider’s formidable abilities promise to enhance cooperative gameplay, with a focus on crowd control and team dynamics.
