Rami Malek Emma Corrin Oscars 2022 Red Carpet

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Rami Malek, the Oscar-winning actor known for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury and his role as a Bond villain, recently opened up about his private romance and personal growth in a candid interview. The 43-year-old actor, who has been linked to Emma Corrin since 2023, shared insights into their relationship and his evolving sense of self.

In an interview published Jan. 20, Malek described Corrin as “fascinating” and “quirky,” a sentiment that resonated with his own personality. “We like quirky,” he added, hinting at the mutual admiration between the two. While Malek has kept much of his romantic life under wraps, he revealed that Corrin once surprised him with a thoughtful dinner, complete with all the trimmings.

The couple first made headlines in September 2023 when they were photographed sharing a sweet kiss. Two weeks later, they were seen attending a dinner party together, further fueling speculation about their relationship. Despite the public interest, both Malek and Corrin have chosen to keep their romance private, a decision that aligns with Malek’s past approach to relationships.

Malek’s previous relationship with Lucy Boynton, his co-star in “Bohemian Rhapsody,” also remained largely out of the public eye. Boynton, who dated Malek from 2018 to 2022, once spoke about the challenges of maintaining privacy in the face of intrusive questions. “I had an interview recently where I was asked such crude and candid questions about my relationship,” Boynton told a publication in August 2019. “It kind of forced me to pull way back.”

For Corrin, keeping their relationship with Malek private has been equally important. The 29-year-old actor, who came out as non-binary in 2021, has been navigating both personal and professional growth. “It’s a realigning of what you want to do and who you are,” Corrin admitted in an interview in July 2024. “I think I’m in the middle of it. I’m not a massive astrology person, but I feel like I am going mad this year.”

Corrin’s journey of self-discovery has been marked by moments of doubt and reflection. “I’m starting to doubt everything – what I’m doing with my work, who I am as a person,” they continued. “Am I a good enough friend? Am I a good enough partner? Am I a good enough actor? Am I doing the right thing? Suddenly, all these questions have descended, and the ground that I’m standing on is so unstable and it feels like such an existential crisis.”

In December 2022, Corrin spoke about their non-binary identity, describing it as an embrace of both masculine and feminine traits. “My identity and being nonbinary is an embrace of many different parts of myself, the masculine and the feminine and everything in between,” they said. “It’s hard to be discovering something in yourself at the same time you’re navigating an industry that demands a lot of you, in terms of knowing who you are.”

As both Malek and Corrin continue to navigate their personal and professional lives, their relationship remains a testament to the importance of privacy and self-discovery in the public eye.
