His wife, Mary Travis, spoke exclusively with Fox News Digital about the couple’s journey during the past decade and their recent nostalgic dive into his music vault.

Mary Travis shared that the couple went through some of Randy’s old recordings to unearth previously undiscovered holiday songs. “It’s been a while since he’s had a new release. We didn’t know where we were going to be as far as further down the road than we ever expected after the stroke,” she said. “Christmas is a sweet time of the year for so many.”

Randy Travis’s stroke left him with partial paralysis and affected his speech, a traumatic experience that deeply impacted both him and his family. “You get to go and be where you want to, where your heart is for Christmas,” Mary noted, reflecting on their time spent together during the holiday season. “It’s a greater appreciation for life, for time with those that you love.”

The emotional toll of Randy’s health issues reminded them to cherish the moments they have with loved ones. “Like I always say, you love the ones that God loans you because one day He’s gonna need them back,” Mary added.

I know that he’d give anything in the world to be able to sing like that again,” Mary stated, expressing pride in her husband’s acceptance and resilience.
