Rangers Secure French Defender Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan Ahead of 2024/25 Season
Rangers Football Club has finalized a significant pre-contract signing, welcoming French defender Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan. The 20-year-old talent is scheduled to officially join the club on July 1, subject to international clearance and work permit approval.
Clinton Nsiala’s impending arrival marks Rangers’ third successful recruitment move this summer, following the acquisitions of Jefte and Oscar Cortes. With a promising future ahead, Nsiala is set to bring a fresh perspective to Ibrox.
The journey of Nsiala, who began his footballing exploits at Cercle Paul Bert de Bréquigny’s youth academy at an early age, ventured further to Nantes when he was 15. The young defender spent two formative years in the youth ranks of the esteemed Ligue 1 side before earning a significant move to AC Milan in 2021.
During his tenure at AC Milan, Nsiala was a key figure in the Under-19s squad, notably contributing to their impressive run to the final of the UEFA Youth League in the previous season. He featured prominently in nine out of the ten encounters during the campaign, showcasing his potential.
Besides his youth achievements, Nsiala also gained valuable top-flight experience by being part of Milan’s matchday squad for several Serie A fixtures last season, working under the guidance of manager Stefano Pioli.
Nils Koppen, Rangers’ Director of Recruitment, expressed enthusiasm about Nsiala’s addition, stating that the young talent brings excitement and growth potential to the squad. Koppen highlighted the club’s confidence in Nsiala’s development under the leadership of manager Philippe Clement and the coaching staff.
As the football world awaits the 2024/25 campaign, Rangers fans anticipate Clinton Nsiala’s contribution to the team’s success as they strive to reclaim the Scottish Premiership title. The club continues its squad reformation under the guidance of Clement, aiming to bolster their ranks and mount a strong challenge in the upcoming season.
