Rapper Da Les Hospitalized After Suffering a Stroke

Rapper Da Les, whose real name is Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr., is currently in recovery after experiencing a stroke on his birthday, Friday, July 26, 2024. His family shared the concerning news in a statement released on Sunday afternoon.

The Mampe family revealed that Da Les was hospitalized and assured fans that he was in stable condition. However, they also acknowledged that his recovery journey would take some time.

In the statement, they expressed their sadness over the rapper’s situation, stating, “Whilst he is in a stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones.” They also encouraged the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers.

Interestingly, the day Da Les suffered the stroke was also his 39th birthday. He had been set to celebrate with an event that evening, but a last-minute announcement on his Instagram let fans know he wouldn’t be attending due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Da Les is well known as one of the founding members of the popular hip hop group Jozi. Over the years, he has made a name for himself as a solo artist, collaborating with big names like the late AKA and Riky Rick, as well as artists such as JR, DJ Speedsta, Burna Boy, Kid X, DJ Milkshake, Gemini Major, and Nadia Nakai on chart-topping hits.

Aside from his music career, Da Les is also a father of two, adding a personal dimension to his life that fans admire. As updates on his health condition are expected, fans continue to show their support during this difficult time for the rapper and his family.
