Renee Rapp Celebrates Freedom in New Single “Leave Me Alone”

Los Angeles, CA — Renee Rapp is back with a bold new single titled “Leave Me Alone,” her first major release since her debut album, Snow Angel, arrived two years ago. The upbeat track showcases Rapp’s carefree attitude mixed with an edge of rebellion.
In “Leave Me Alone,” Rapp takes aim at her experiences, including her exit from HBO Max‘s hit series and being pushed by her label for new music. She sings, “Signed a hundred NDAs but I still say something/Leave me alone, bitch, I wanna have fun/Took my sex life with me, now the show ain’t fuckin’,” over infectious percussion and electric guitars.
Rapp parted ways with Sex Lives after its second season, choosing to focus on her music career, which has flourished since. The series was canceled after its third season. By that time, Rapp was already busy headlining tours for Snow Angel and preparing for her lead role in the film adaptation of Mean Girls: The Musical.
Reflecting on her fast-paced career, Rapp admitted that the pressure of multiple responsibilities could be overwhelming. In 2023, she remarked, “Everything happens at fucking once. I overextended myself. But I’m glad I did. I’m not big into regrets.” With the release of “Leave Me Alone,” she highlights the importance of prioritizing fun alongside work.
Rapp is set to perform this single live for the first time on CBS during a special airing from the Fountainbleau Las Vegas on Monday, May 26. As she launches into her next album era, Rapp is proving she’s louder, feistier, and more unhinged than ever.
