Renowned Singer Bhavatharini Raja Passes Away at the Age of 47
Renowned playback singer Bhavatharini Raja, daughter of the legendary music maestro Ilayaraja, has sadly passed away at the age of 47. She breathed her last at a hospital in Sri Lanka after battling a prolonged illness.
Bhavatharini was an incredibly talented singer and had achieved great success in her career. She had won a National Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her soulful rendition of the song ‘Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu’ in the critically acclaimed Tamil movie ‘Bharathi’, composed by her father.
Known for her melodious voice, Bhavatharini was scheduled to perform a concert in Colombo on January 27 and 28. Her sudden demise has left the music industry and fans devastated.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, expressed his heartfelt condolences on Bhavatharini’s passing. He recalled her remarkable achievement in winning a National Award for the biopic ‘Bharathi’, which portrayed the life of the famous poet Subramanya Bharathy. Stalin emphasized that her absence will be deeply felt.
Bhavatharini came from a highly talented musical family. Her brothers, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja, are also well-known musicians in the industry.
