Resident Alien Season 4: New Threats, Shocking Twists Await Fans
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Fans of the quirky sci-fi comedy-drama *Resident Alien* can rejoice as the show prepares to launch its highly anticipated fourth season. The series, which originally aired on Syfy, will now stream on the USA Network, promising more extraterrestrial chaos, unexpected alliances, and jaw-dropping twists.
The show, based on the Dark Horse Comics series, follows Harry, an alien played by Alan Tudyk, as he navigates life in the small Colorado town of Patience. Season 3 left viewers on a cliffhanger, with Harry and his son, Bridget, kidnapped by the Grey aliens and a shapeshifting Mantid impersonating Harry. The stakes are higher than ever as the new season explores the fallout from these revelations.
Showrunner Chris Sheridan teased what’s to come in an interview with TV Insider. “The walls are closing in on Harry… with more people being dragged into the alien storyline,” Sheridan said. He hinted at a broader scope for Season 4, noting that “alien encounters are not confined to one town.”
Season 3’s shocking finale saw General McCallister stepping into a mysterious portal, leaving her fate unknown. Meanwhile, Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv’s relationship deepened as they uncovered the truth about Harry’s alien identity. Asta, Harry’s closest human friend, faces a new challenge in distinguishing the real Harry from the Mantid imposter. “Mantids are experts at shapeshifting, so Asta’s going to have to be pretty clever,” Sheridan added.
The upcoming season will also delve into the evolving dynamics among Patience’s residents. Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv’s partnership is expected to grow stronger, while a potential romance between Asta and Joseph could add a new layer of intrigue. Sheridan emphasized the theme of unity, stating, “It’s about survival and unity… Patience needs to rally together against the threats lurking within and beyond.”
Despite rumors of a budget squeeze potentially affecting the number of episodes, Sheridan and his team are committed to delivering the same high-quality storytelling that has captivated fans. Season 4 promises to blend humor, drama, and sci-fi action as Harry continues his fish-out-of-water journey.
*Resident Alien* Season 4 will stream on the USA Network, with the first three seasons available on Peacock. Fans can expect more surprises, alien shenanigans, and the signature wit that has made the show a standout in the sci-fi comedy genre.
