Dr. Oz Reveals $1 Billion Medicaid Funds for Illegal Immigrants

Washington, D.C. — Dr. Mehmet Oz, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, announced on Thursday that over $1 billion in taxpayer funds have been allocated for Medicaid coverage for illegal immigrants across several states. This revelation comes amidst an ongoing government shutdown that has now lasted three weeks.
Oz stated that the Trump administration is working to address this funding issue. ‘The Democrats have been gaslighting us on this issue of Medicaid funds going to illegal immigrants for quite a while,’ he said during an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends.’
Currently, the healthcare for immigrants has become a pivotal topic in discussions surrounding the government shutdown. Republicans assert that federal health dollars are being misallocated, while Democrats insist on including expanded Affordable Care Act subsidies in any funding bill.
‘If you live in Texas or Florida and you’re paying U.S. federal taxes — your money is being diverted to places like California, which provides extensive benefits for illegal immigrants,’ Oz said. His agency’s review into the matter is still in its early stages, covering only a few states. Oz assured that they will continue to investigate the issue nationwide.
Democrats are concerned that failing to act before the upcoming open enrollment in November might lead to increased health insurance premiums for millions of Americans. Meanwhile, the White House has claimed that Democrats propose a plan that could result in nearly $200 billion being used for the healthcare of illegal immigrants over the next decade.
‘You can’t just dole that out to able-bodied illegal immigrants in states because they think it’s the right thing to do,’ Oz emphasized. He maintained that taxpayer dollars should not fund healthcare for those who do not contribute to the system.
‘If they want to pay for it, they should pay for it,’ he added, reiterating the moral implications of the use of taxpayer funds. Oz also pointed out that although federal law restricts illegal immigrants from Medicaid enrollment, loopholes in some states allow certain healthcare benefits.
‘We will get all that money back into our federal coffers. The president is laser-focused on protecting the U.S. taxpayer,’ Oz concluded, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to rectifying the funding allocations.
